Cynthia bounds up the stairs to the apartment with a big brown paper envelope.
Cynthia (waving the envelope): Hey kitties! It’s heeeere!
Marcy and penelope kitten wait excitedly and impatiently as Cynthia wrestles open the envelope.
Marcy: OMG. I can’t wait to find out what Mittens is texting.
penelope kitten (squeaking): i know.
Marcy: I hope Grandma hasn’t put anymore knitted hats on him.
penelope kitten: i hope his felted rhino isn’t in crisis.
Marcy: I hope Drunk Patty brings him some cheez whiz and chips.
penelope kitten: i hope stumpy isn’t in jail due to his illegal catnip biz.
Marcy: OMG. Cindy. Hurry up!!!
penelope kitten: i’m freakin’ out.
Cynthia finally has hold of Texts from Mittens: The Friends and Family Edition. Marcy and penelope kitten grab it out of her hands and greedily start reading.
Cynthia: Geez, you guys. It’s not like you aren’t on the Texts from Mittens website every single day catching up on Mittens’ life.
Marcy and Penelope Kitten spend the next three days reading, rereading, and fangirling over Texts from Mittens: The Friends and Family Edition.
Marcy: I just can’t believe Mittens said that to his girlfriend, Fiona.
penelope kitten: she’s so pretty.
Marcy: And how about when Stumpy went out at midnight for deliveries?
penelope kitten: he’s so bad.
Marcy: Oh my god. What would you do if Mittens invited you over to watch Judge Judy with him?
Marcy and penelope kitten look at each other, scream, and hide their heads in their pillows.
Cynthia: Why don’t you two write Mittens some fan mail and tell him how much you like his book and daily comic?
Marcy: Yeah right. Like where would we send it?
Cynthia: I know his mom. I’ll text it to her.
An audible gasp from Marcy and penelope kitten.
penelope kitten (squeak whispering): you know … mittens’ mom?!
They stare at Cynthia – aghast and speechless. Then they start whispering in each other’s ears. Then they stare at Cynthia again.
Cynthia: Just write it, you guys.
Marcy and penelope kitten spend the next three days whispering and panicking and attempting to compose the perfect text message.
Cynthia: Ok. That’s it. Let me see what you’ve got.
Marcy (handing it to her): It’s still a work in progress.

Marcy and penelope kitten spend the next week in adolescent angst, terrified but hoping they get a … text from mittens.
*Angie Baily’s book, Texts from Mittens: The Friends and Family Edition, is hilarious and sweet and quite a bit snarky. The characters seem like your friends and you start thinking that it might be fun to hang with Drunk Patty or go on a late night catnip adventure with Stumpy or call Grandma when you need her emergency fleece sweater to sit on. It’s one of those books that you don’t want to end. But, fear not! Texts from Mittens is not only a daily comic, it’s also a daily calendar! You can have your Mittens fix every single day. Thank you, Angie Baily! We love Mittens! #sofancy
