Lil Bub: The Song, by Brunswick Project

Cynthia:  The funny and weird and brilliant guys over at Brunswick Project strike again. This time they wrote a song for that cute little cat and Internet sensation, Lil Bub.

Marcy:  Are those the guys that wrote the song to Shark Cat that you play over and over and over again?

Cynthia:  That’s them! Shark Cat is a “cool cat” kind of song while this one is… just… adorable. Both are incredibly catchy and create “perma-grin”. Much in the same way that Lil Bub is a “perma-kitten”. I dare you to listen to either song and not smile for the rest of the day.

Macy:  I am a moody cat, Cindy. Also, I am French. I do not smile at inane American cats with their tongues hanging out and think it’s “adorable”.

Cynthia:  You are impossible, Marcy. Also, you are not French. Okay. Whatever. How about you look at Lil Bub’s dude, Mike, while you listen to the super duper Brunswick Project.

 Lil Bub’s dude, Mike

Marcy:  Gasp… What a hottie! Do you think he’d let me be his kitty?

Cynthia:  There is just something so sexy about men who love cats!

Marcy:  I know. And there are a lot of them –  Lil Bub’s dude, Mike – the Brunswick Project guys –  Jackson Galaxy – to name a few.

Cynthia:  Men are finally catching on. Hey – let’s play the song again.

Marcy:  Yay!

Cynthia presses play. Marcy and Cynthia happily sing along to Lil Bub: The Song, by Brunswick Project over and over and over and over again.

“Lil Bub… we’re in love… with your crazy little mug”

Shark Cat: The Song, by Brunswick Project

3:30 pm. Cynthia bursts into the bedroom where Marcy is thoughtfully chewing on her toenails. Cynthia is jumping up and down and grinning somewhat insanely.

Cynthia:  Marcy! Remember that video I showed you of the cat in a shark costume riding a roomba?

Marcy:  You mean the one that exposed how insane, off your rockers, crazy cuckoo all you cat people are?

Cynthia:  Um… yeah… that one.

Marcy (apprehensively):  Yes. Why?

Cynthia:  Well, a couple of cat lovers … WROTE A SONG FOR IT.  And…  IT IS AWESOME! You’ve got to watch this.

Cynthia is laughing and can’t stop.

Marcy looks at her, alarmed.

Cynthia:  It’s just so funny and weird and brilliant.

The artists are two amazing musicians, Steve Cruickshank and Joel Buxton from the Brunswick Project. They just launched a YouTube channel called Animal Songs with original songs set to popular animal videos.

It’s crazy silly. So fun.

Marcy swishes her tail, becoming increasingly alarmed as Cynthia sits grinning from ear to ear.

Cynthia:  Oh, Marcy. Don’t be such a grump. This kind of stuff is what’s right about the world. Plus, they looooove their cats!

Marcy:  I just worry how far this kitty mental illness is going to go with you human beings. It’s worrisome. What if you all abandon your jobs to sit around and watch cat YouTube videos and write cat blogs all day. Who will feed me Friskies?

Cynthia:  Now you’re talking! Let’s watch it again.

Cynthia hits play.

Marcy:  Seriously. You’ve all gone mental.

Fun

SHARK!

Cynthia:  Happy Shark Week, Marcy! In celebration here is a short video of a cat… in a shark outfit… riding a roomba!

Marcy:  You humans are mental.

Cynthia:  Oh, it’s just fun!

Marcy:  Why would someone subject that cat to that horrid costume? Why? Why? Why?

Cynthia:  Because it’s Shark Week and it’s cute.

Marcy:  But what does that mean?!

Cynthia:  Uh…

Marcy:  You don’t know!

Marcy leans in for a closer look.

Marcy: Hey! That shark costume looks suspiciously like Alexandria and Dom’s 2nd place look from Project Runway last week. You just blogged about it, Cindy!

Cynthia:  Oh, you’re right. That is so cool! Good eye, Marcy.

Marcy:  You’re ALL mental.
