Fashionable Florida! (be back in a week)

Photo by Bruce Mozert, Silver Springs, FL, 1938

I’m off for a mini vacay to visit mi familia in Florida. Check out these fab vintage Florida photos…

Cynthia:  Hi Awesome Readers! I’m off to Florida for the week.

Cynthia:  Marcy and Penelope Kitten don’t know yet. Remember when I tried to sneak off last time and Marcy found out and wouldn’t speak to me? And then when I came back and she wouldn’t speak to me again because of some crazy cat rule?

Well. This time I am smart. I will not tell the cats I’m leaving and when I get back I will convince them I was never gone and they were dreaming!

I’m sure they’ll fall for it.

Cynthia reaches into her closet for her suitcase and screams.

Marcy and Penelope Kitten are sitting in her suitcase along with Friskies cans, a comfy blanket, and a toy mouse.

Marcy: We’re packed.

penelope kitten (squeaking):  yeah yeah. going with you.

*I will be Instagramming my trip to North Florida here!

Check in for updates on the Micanopy Moggies (Micanopy’s community cat population), Urban Threads (an Anthropologie/Urban Outfitters discount store in Gainesville), and more!

Later ‘Gators!

Great pics as always!! I didn’t know Albert was a real alligator, I love him and Alberta. I’m always on the lookout for them when I’m forced to watch the Gators play (which is every Saturday). Have fun! I can’t wait to see all the instas!

      Thank you!
Albert is the name of the UF alligator mascot. I am so sorry you are subjected to UF football on a regular basis. I went to one quarter of one game when I was at UF. Don’t tell anyone or they may take away my diploma!

You kitties would not be good travelers. Did you know you’d have to walk about a mile to get to the plane? You’d have to ride a conveyor belt through the x-ray machine and get patted down if they thought you looked suspicious. Then you’d have to sit with a seat belt fastened for MANY hours and get trampled on arrival when exiting the plane. And the airline would lose your Friskies.
Of course you’d be more comfortable traveling in a carrier but I have a feeling you’d both scream and yowl and the pilot would make an emergency landing somewhere in the desert and have you escorted off the plane.
And if you ever got to Florida you’d have to worry constantly about alligators.

How cute! My kitties love suitcases 🙂 Love those photos, esp. the striped bikini on top..too cute! Have fun in FL! Can’t wait to hear about the Moggies 🙂 (So, what does “moggy” mean anyway?)

Moggy is an English slang term for “cat”. I think it is soooo cute. Well, to my American ears!

If you get to Jacksonville, there’s a good vegan bakery called Sweet Theory!

Ohhhh… thank you! I will try it if I am in Jacksonville! Sometimes I fly into Jacksonville but this time it was Orlando.

Oh, have a fabulous time with your family! I love these retro photos! You should try to recreate some of them on your trip and then apply some fabulous Instagram filter to make them look retro. I vote for the one with the alligator! lol I’m sure Marcy could take him if he misbehaves.
