Marcy’s Movie Pick | “Fantasia dei Gatti” by Augustin Hadelich and Tam King

A fantastico feline film…

Marcy is wearing a cape and carrying a conductor’s baton.

Marcy (melodramatically) Picture this:

It’s a dark and snowy night. Virtuoso violinist Augustin Hadelich has just finished playing a concert when he is approached by a music loving stray cat asking Augustin to perform for his friends and frenemies.

Hadelich agrees to meet in the alleyway for a clandestine concert for the cats.

What ensues is alternately sweet, silly, beautiful, dramatic, and ultimately… mysterious.

Just who (or what) is this mad musician playing the heart out of Paganini’s Caprice No. 17 for a bunch of misfit cats? A cat lover… or… ?

Marcy boldly swishes her cape like a matador.

Watch below … swish swish swish… to find out.

penelope kitten (squeaking)we laughed. we cried. it was –

Marcy:  Don’t say it.

penelope kitten:  but it is.

Marcy:  I know but you’re going to ruin my climactic arc.

Marcy swishes her cape and hits “play”.

Cynthia:  Augustin Hadelich is widely considered one of the best violinists in the world. We would also widely (and lovingly) consider him a crazy cat person.

Marcy:  Most creatives are you know.

penelope kitten:  please pass the popcorn.

and press play again.

this is better than Cats.

That was wonderful! Thank you Marcy. It had everything… beautiful music, drama, tension, humor, romance, a fight scene and cats doing ballet. Nothing was missing. I just hope the cats have been spayed and neutered.

Glad you liked it. Didn’t see any ears tipped. Good thing they are cartoon cats.
