Cat Art Show Los Angeles Opens Tomorrow

“Rhonda And Cat” by Mercedes Helnwein

Cynthia:
I’m really getting excited for Cat Art Show Los Angeles. Especially since curator, Susan Michals, continues to post the fabulous artwork on Facebook. So thrilling.  Below I’ve shared some paintings that I can’t wait to see in person.

Prices for the original artwork range from $300 – $50,000 dollars. Several artists will have limited edition signed prints for sale. Prices for the prints start at $25 for the Shepard Fairey “Radical Cat”  to $250 for the Mercedes Helnwein “Rhonda And Cat”.

A portion of the net proceeds will go to Los Angeles cat rescue group, Stray Cat Alliance. Yay!

By the way, Marcy will not be joining me at the gallery. She is still mad that there is no artwork of her and there is no telling how she will react and I don’t have $50,000 to find out. Also, no cats are allowed in the gallery. Which I think is a very smart idea.

Marcy (seething):  I’m so mad.

Cynthia:  So what else is new? On to the cat art!

Cynthia:  Even Henri Le Chat Noir has a video out promoting Cat Art Show Los Angeles.

Marcy (crushing hard):  He’s so dreamy and moody and French. I love him.

Cynthia:  Well, he’s much better behaved than you anyway.

Marcy:  Ha. That’s what you think. He’s a cat and he’s French. (sighing) He’s sublime.

That art is awesome! Oh my gosh! How much fun are you going to have?! Wheweeee! I can't wait to see what you are going to wear. Poor Marcy. But, yea, she really should have been nicer to that disco ball. I wouldn't want her near my art, either. Sorry Marcy! But what if someone painted. A. Disco. Ball. Eeep!

Have so much fun. I can't wait to hear all about it!

      Hi Jenni!
Marcy is not allowed to go to your house for fear of what she would do to all of the fabulous art on your walls. Sigh… i wish she liked disco.

Marcy, once again we agree. I too am in love with Henri. His depth, his suffering, his soulful observations stir my emotions and fill me with longing for I'm not sure what. We must go to France and meet Henri!

Oh, Lisa, I know! I think about you and a few other friends who love animals/cats but are allergic when I look at this picture. Luke Chueh captures it so well.
