Check out these sweetly magical amigurumis…
Cynthia: Hi Lovely Readers! We are so excited that Sharon from Ami Amour will be exhibiting at CatCon this year.
I met Sharon almost three years ago at the LA Feline Film Festival when I was an overenthusiastic newbie blogger covering cat fashion. I saw Sharon and her friend, lurched at them, ohhing and ahhing over their cute cat attire, and begged for a photo while hysterically waving my official press badge at them in hopes of seeming… well… more official than I was acting.
Marcy: Officially nuts.
Cynthia: Instead of running away from me – like a normal person would do when confronted by an insane cat person – she engaged in conversation! And, told me about her awesome amigurumi business.
Marcy: What’s an amigurumi? Can I kill it?
penelope kitten (squeaking): yum. sounds tasty.
Cynthia: No no… An amigurumi is a crocheted or knitted stuffed animal. It’s a centuries old Japanese art that is gaining in popularity here in the States.
Cynthia: Sharon is an expert amigurumi maker. She even creates her own patterns. And, she’s bringing her clowder of cat amis to CatCon!
Cynthia: Aren’t they adorable?
penelope kitten (squeaking): totes adorbs.
Marcy (sniffing): I only think something’s adorable if I can kill it and eat it.
Just then, Penelope spies Ami Amour’s soot sprites in her Etsy store.
penelope kitten: gasp! it’s me. it’s little penelopes.
Cynthia: No, those aren’t kittens. Those are soot sprites. Soot sprites are magical dust bunnies who squeak, and are helpful, and eat candy.
Cynthia (reconsidering): Hunh…I guess they are like little Penelopes.
penelope kitten (decisively): please bring me back 500.
penelope kitten: yeah yeah. i’m amassing my army.
Cynthia: You’re amassing an… army?
penelope kitten: an army of helpful sweet squeaky soots.
to magically makeover the whole world.
Cynthia: They do look good on shoes..
Marcy: Or on a piece of toast.
